Yesterday was a Sea day, and it was really nice to have a break. We had walked 45 miles the previous 5 days, so we were both ready to just take it easy. We spent the day just lazing around by the pool, watching movies and soccer on the big, outdoor screen, and reading.
We discovered more of the ship too. We have determined there a a couple things we really like about this ship and a couple we don’t. We really like the size of the ship – it’s really big and there are a lot of nice little bars around. We also really enjoyed the show last night – it was a Broadway-inspired dance show with lots of songs from various Broadway plays. It was the best cruise ship show we’ve seen.
On the downside, the staff isn’t nearly as friendly as we’ve had in the past. We aren’t sure if it’s because we are in Europe or if it’s the cruise line, but people just seem a bit more grumpy. And the food isn’t fantastic. It’s not bad, and we’ve had some good meals, but it’s not as good as we’ve had. And that’s not really a bad thing for us because we are trying to be the first people to ever take a cruise and come home weighing less!
We also decided to skip Berlin. The train ride was 3.5 hours one way, so we’d have to spend 7 hours on a train. We plan to just explore the little port town of Warnemunde, Germany today. Here’s a pic of the town I took from our room as we pulled in.
