We did a LOT of walking today (over 11 miles), cruised the city in the Hop-on-Hop-off bus, and took a canal cruise. We pretty much saw all the highlights. We were pretty cold, which was nice coming from Phoenix, but we bundled up enough and toughed it out. Here are some pics.
Some cool old buildings:

The Little Mermaid Sculpture – this thing is super famous here. Hans Christian Anderson is from here (he wrote The Little Mermaid in 1837), so this place is all about him. The sculpture has been here over 100 years and is photographed 5,000,000 times per year. This year it’s going to be 5,000,004 because I took four pictures.

Bikes, bikes, and more bikes. There are more bikes in Copenhagen than people – 5 bikes for every 4 people. 50 percent of the population bikes to work. This is just one picture of one place we saw with bikes stored by a subway station. They are everywhere!

We also learned the drinking age is 16 here, everyone drinks, and you are allowed to walk down the street drinking. At lunch, pretty much everyone we saw was drinking beer. I’m going to do my best to bring some of these practices back to the states.
We are having a great time. One more day in Copenhagen then it’s off on the cruise.
